I'm jumping on the occasion to reiterate here that Valve's Proton team hiring process is good, and although I wasn't picked, the time they took to help me improve, give me advices, as well as the overall communication make me think their company should be great to work with (at least 3-4 years ago)
- Philip-J-Fry 2y agoComing out of an interview process learning new stuff and happy in defeat will always make me feel good.
- 63stack 2y agoSearching for "valve proton team" doesn't bring up much, how did you find a job ad from them?
- account42 2y agoGiven Valve's structure (you choose what you work on) I wouldn't expect a job ad specifically for the Proton team. So it would probably fall under https://www.valvesoftware.com/en/jobs?job_id=57 https://www.valvesoftware.com/en/jobs?job_id=57 Besides that, Valve does approach people who already do good open source work in the space.
