This is the most bullshit DMCA takedown i've seen.
> How is the accused project designed to circumvent your technological protection measures?
> For hard paywalls, it is our understanding that the identified Bypass Paywalls technology automatically scans web archives for a crawled version of the protected content and displays that content.
How is using web archive considered DMCA circumvention?
- mrinfinitiesx 2y agoIt's considered controversial 'oh shit' territory for Github and they made a quick and concise action based on fear rather than having a spine about it.
- chii 2y agoit is the (correct) github response to DMCA, then let the dispute process happen. I don't own the repo, but i do hope the owners of the repo dispute it, because the takedown has no real leg to stand on.
- compuguy 2y agoDoesn't really matter. It's moved to a Russian Github clone, so YMMV: https://gitflic.ru/user/magnolia1234 https://gitflic.ru/user/magnolia1234
