Show HN: MyFire.app – A Financial Freedom, Fire Calculator
The calculator quickly shows you how long your nest egg will last, given a constant withdrawal. It automatically shows you a safe withdrawal rule to have your capital last forever.
- unsupp0rted 2y agoThis would be helpful if it took into account monthly burn. How much do I need invested at x% if I spend $y/mo on living expenses, to retire within z years? Even better if it accounts for 2~4% annual inflation.
- rudeevelops 2y agoThanks! The currenct calculator implies a 3% inflation. And then it assumes a lot of things just to give user realistic "withdrawals" based on the SWR. To incorporate your suggestions I could add a new input which goes: "If I spend ______ a month, then I would need to invest ________ and have an average return of _________, to retire and keep the current lifestyle" What do you think?
