It's not even that. Communists came after people even if they didn't have much more resources than others. They needed to kill, imprison and torture people all the time for no reason at all simply to maintain constant fear. In a nutshell, we have Western society, for which the main driver is greed, we have Eastern, for which the main driver is guilt (hence hikikomori, "disappearing" fired Japanese salarymen, people "lying flat" in China, etc), and Communist, for which the main, and sometimes the only, driver is fear. Absolute majority of people in the Soviet Union, virtually everyone, had no intrinsic motivation to do what they were assigned by the Party to do. They did it simply out of fear. Which has become so normalised, by the end of the Soviet era they even stopped realising it. It is the greatest moral failing of the Western civilisation that having not one, but two historical chances to wipe off this evil off the Earth, in 1945 and in 1991, they missed both.

brutal simplification and misrepresentation. a) you are completely ignoring corruption by the west b) you are completely ignoring the part of the population who wasn't afraid and just did their job like most people in capitalism do. b) you are completely ignoring the part of the population who wasn't afraid and just did their job like most people in capitalism do. b) you are completely ignoring the part of the population who wasn't afraid and just did their job like most people in capitalism do. c) greed is the main driver of a few who are turning the whole thing into a net-negative, only because it is their only way to survive. we don't tolerate that, we are actively working on helping them to increase their survivability. "come on, just get it, Kanye". they do carry ok genes. d) Hikikomori has nothing to do with culture or systems: there's breakaways, gamers, tv junkies, couch potatoes, people who feel/sense, neuro-chemically, overwhelming disgust when they are in cities, shops, offices and so on ... communism is the imperfection at the infinite end-game of any surviving colony. the rest is for teaching, learning & fun. money is fine, hoarder-capitalists will terminate themselves, and everyone who joins their side. a lot of people just don't understand selection, fitness and that nature and evolution have more than enough ways (accelerating climate change and throwing in some unexpected variables really helps with relieving the paradox of choice, though, thank you very much) to get to everyone, no matter how deep you dig yourself into the ground, space or circuits. people let themselves get corrupted. that's on them. and with magic money from funny math, even the dinosaurs would have survived after diverting that stone that hit their planet.
