YouTube is returning 403 to NewPipe and other 3rd party players
They're apparently going hard this time, no known way to play anything anymore.
Playing on the website without an account still works.

- amlozano 2y agoOf course, the customer is the advertisers, not the users.
- mkbkn 2y agoToday I got an update notification on Tubular app (based on NewPipe), both the streaming & downloads are now working. LibreTube is also working last I checked (yesterday).

- stratosfear67 2y agoNo way around this either? I shouldn't have updated
- g-b-r 2y agoIt has nothing to do with updating Some piped instances, with e.g. Libretube, still work though

- fossdd 2y agoFunny, my invidious instance still works..
- harshk9 2y agoBuy yt premium subscription
- ZiiS 2y agoHappily if that allows me to use NewPipe.
- fung1t 2y agoYouTube addon on KODI works without ads but one cannot sign in anymore so need to add and bookmark the channels one watches regularly manually. Learning to use KODI is a worthwhile pursuit these days for many IMO. Another possibility is to use the official YouTube app via a VPN with a country setting like Russia and one should see no pushed ads anymore for obvious reasons.
- HenryBemis 2y agoSo your solution to see YT without ads is route it through Russia, where it will be monitored by Russian authorities? And while on that VPN the rest of your traffic will also be routed through Russia? That's next level masochism :)
- sergiotapia 2y agoI would just stop watching youtube tbh. It's not worth the horrible ads.
