The queue here seems to work poorly. Looked at the site and I was 162. Looked away and back for literally 2 seconds, I was 164. alt tab and back again, I was 17

The queue here seems to work poorly. Looked at the site and I was 162. Looked away and back for literally 2 seconds, I was 164. alt tab and back again, I was 176. Again and I was 188/188. Now I'm 140. What?
- omnicognate 2y agoIt says on the page: Don't leave or you'll lose your spot. The queue worked fine for me as long as I stayed on the page. I assume it uses focus/visibility events and puts you at the back of the queue unless you keep it open and focused. The queue length is jumping about a lot as people are visiting and leaving, because hn.
- dgrin91 2y agoBut then why did my spot jump _down_ by 60 spots when I alt-tabbed?

- omnicognate 2y agoYour comment didn't say it did that. What did the total queue length do when that happened?
- dgrin91 2y agoI went from 188 to 140 when I alt-tabbed, so 48, not 60.
- kmoser 2y agoFor various definitions of "leave". I had a similar experience: left it open a while, came back, never got to the #1 spot.
- hecanjog 2y agoI've been going back and forth between position #4 and #3 for a while now, which is a bit confusing.
