Second Canadian scientist alleges brain illness investigation was shut down

- api 2y agoYou mean the COVID vaccine that rolled out globally not just in New Brunswick? There would be a bare minimum of tens of millions of such cases if the rate we see discussed here were global, probably much more. It would be impossible to hide.
- GenerocUsername 2y agoNot when there was discrete batches in the early waves with radically different side effects
- akira2501 2y ago> It would be impossible to hide. I think about Thalidomide. It's definitely a teratogen, but you only see birth defects if it's taken during a very specific window during pregnancy. This fact led to the product being left on the market for many years, and even for a period time after we concluded that it was responsible for horrific birth defects and newborn deaths.
- el_benhameen 2y agoGiven that the cases started appearing as early as 2015 and started ramping up in 2019, no. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/mar/30/mystery-brain-disorder-baffles-canadian-medicine https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/mar/30/mystery-brain-...
- _heimdall 2y agoIf it's limited to New Brunswick, and there is something to find, you'd be better off looking at environmental causes. Flint, Michigan may be a better comparison than CoV2 vaccines.
- largbae 2y agoThis article has so few details in so many words. A committee decided 40 people wasn't enough to call it an epidemic, but there is no information to suggest that malice is involved. Have they declared epidemics for smaller clusters? Then there are claims of the number being 350. Is _that_ a lot? Over what time period were the 350 or even the 40 identified?

- OutOfHere 2y agoThe number one reason for shutting down an investigation is when the government already knows the answer, but has no acceptable solution to it. In this case, possible reasons include: (1) prions, with a possible spread into the soil and plants (2) neurotoxins like BMAA etc. from seafood (3) brain eating amoeba. If it's #1, "god help NB" because short of incinerating the whole region with a hydrogen bomb, there is not much else that can be done. If it's #2, neurotoxins from seafood, stopping them will decimate the local seafood industry, ergo taxes and exports, so the government has a lot to lose by taking action. If it's #3, the government would still be on the hook for inadequate water purification.
- LorenPechtel 2y agoIf it's #1 it's god help humanity. A high lethality long latency disease won't be stopped in time to matter. If you can even stop it at all. However, you've missed a #4--toxin from some factory in the area that has paid off the politicians.
