Elon Musk claims Optimus robots could make Tesla a $25T company
- quantified 2y agoMusk said more stuff. Why not say 50T or 100T? By the time that happens, inflation will make a great many more companies worth 1T. Many companies will be worth 50T in the long run.
- credit_guy 2y agoOk. It's ridiculous. But let's do this thought experiment. If Tesla ever gets to be a 25T dollar company, would it be ok for Musk to get a pay package of, let's say, 1 trillion dollars? I mean, the chance that will ever happen is zero, right?
- quantified 2y agoIf the market cap gets to 25T, I think he's already getting over 1T of equity. He just needs to sit on what he was just granted, he'll have 5T if he stays at 20%. Fresh 1T after he sells his current stake to buy some toy, like a pharmaceutical company? If I were a stockholder I'd not want the dilution, I think, but I'd only have bought the stock because I buy into Musk being a Big Man and he tanks the company otherwise, so probably yes.
- hammyhavoc 2y agoI think Musk's inability to consistently ship functioning substance is beginning to show even with normies. The sentiment towards him and his ideas is changing quickly.
- m463 2y agoI wonder what the market size is. FANUC has $500b in revenue.
- jfengel 2y agoIt could. But to do so, they need AI chips, which you seem to be redirecting to the company that you personally own. I'm really perturbed that we gave that guy tens of billions of dollars. I believe in the company; they've innovated a lot of important things. But they haven't done anything genuinely significant in quite a while, and committed a lot of obvious own-goals. All the while the CEO is sounding more and more stupid, and diverting his attention elsewhere.
