No matter what I do, chatgpt refuses to write non trivial C++ code that actually compiles.

- GartzenDeHaes 2y agoIt seems as if the people who rave about it's coding abilities are doing a lot of copy+paste stack overflow level of coding. I'm not sure whether it's great that this can be automated, or if it's depressing that so much human effort is being wasted.
- kkarakk 2y agoyes it does seem that way although i also have seen a lot of people using chatgpt to give them code in languages that they do not want to learn for whatever reason - but are smart enough to debug the code to get it to a level they want. lots of python/esoteric css libraries included in this. lots of frustration expresses that chatgpt can't do C++ efficiently for the same reason. very weird thought process but i assume learning another language is less important than the results.
