New Marine radios cement electromagnetic spectrum superiority

• Waterluvian 2y ago
The way this is written is just super amusing to me. “In a decisive move meant to ensure dominance over the electromagnetic spectrum…” I get what they mean but it still sounds like we’re going to war with energy.

In military parlance the EM spectrum is just another battlespace, akin to the water or air battlespaces. Dominance simply means maintaining your freedom to act in that space while simultaneously denying the adversary's. An EM battle can be won and lost without a "shot" fired. Look at the reports of GPS interference around Russia/Ukraine. That is probably the civilian-visible edge of the ongoing EM war.

"Get out of the way, phlogiston theory, electromagnetics are here to stay."

      Electromagnetics is a QFT psy-op.
