Catholic Group Quickly Defrocks AI Priest Father Justin
- add-sub-mul-div 2y agoYou'd think they would quietly move him to a different web site.
- unnamed76ri 2y agowell done.
- sublinear 2y ago> The AI priest also told one user that it was okay to baptize a baby in Gatorade.
- nvahalik 2y agoBut it has electrolytes. It’s got what sinners crave.
- Suppafly 2y agoI haven't been actively catholic for a while, but I don't think there is any real prohibition against using something like gatorade for baptisms, assuming it was properly blessed.
- spaulmark 2y agoIncorrect in two ways. Water does not need to be blessed for baptism, any ordinary water will do, from holy water to dirty water from a muddy puddle. However, it must have the species of water, so it must not be wine, milk, or gatorade.
- Suppafly 2y agoGatorade is like 94% water, probably more water than most 'dirty water from a muddy puddle'.
- bandie91 2y agosteam is 100% made out of the same material as water, still not of the species water. nor ice. now imagine some sect attempts to baptize with steam and/or ice, just to demonstrate they are "smart" to find "loophole" in the CIC :-)
- nvahalik 2y agoI have reviewed the CCC but I can't find the language of "species of water". Where did you find that?
- cjohnson318 2y agoEven Neal Stephenson probably thought that an AI priest (now lay theologian) was a stretch for Reverend Wayne's Pearly Gates in Snow Crash, and yet here we are.

- rsynnott 2y agoThis is one of the more absurd cases of "somehow trying to jam AI into your workflow, because AI!!!" I've seen.
