Meta's Threads Now Has More Daily US Users Than Musk's X
- isodev 3y agoIt was never a question if it will happen, just a matter of when. I like the idea of decentralised socials much better than a one-man's echo chamber.
- mupuff1234 3y agoI don't think i've even once encountered a link to threads, not here, not on reddit, and not on any website i visit. So perhaps anecdotal, but i'm highly suspicious of this report.
- explain 3y agoSure, lol
- samketchup 3y agoDoes this account for android and desktop users or just ios? Can't imagine this is a legitimate comparison.
- samketchup 3y agoLooks like it's just comparing play and app store downloads
- jerlam 3y agoSo far in April, Threads has averaged an estimated 28 million daily active users, so people who have opened the app at least once in a 24-hour period. In April so far, X has averaged 22 million DAUs... X's monthly active users in the US handily beat Threads. I have no idea how to interpret these numbers. DAUs are higher on Threads, but MAUs are higher on Twitter?
- labrador 3y agoI think they are trying to say Threads is more popular in the world, X is more popular in the U.S.
- rsynnott 3y agoNo, both refer to US usage only. It means that, in a given month, more people use Twitter than use Threads, but in a given day, more people use Threads than use Twitter (ie. Twitter has a lot of occasional users, but Threads has more regular use). This seems fairly plausible; I've given up on Naughty Old Mr Car's Wild Ride entirely, myself, but I know quite a few people who still have an account for viewing occasional linked Twitter threads, etc, but don't really otherwise use it anymore.
- meiraleal 3y agoIt would mean that the threads users are using the app more regularly than X
- Zigurd 3y agoThis is a plausible interpretation. I probably follow a link to a tweet at least once a month, but not much more often. I use Threads almost every day. So I'm one MAU on both platforms.
- noashavit 3y agohttps://www.searchlogistics.com/learn/statistics/threads-statistics/ https://www.searchlogistics.com/learn/statistics/threads-sta... is a very informative comparison of threads to other social networks

- meiraleal 3y agoI for one left twitter last week and just downloaded Threads again. Two weeks ago Elon Musk thought it would be cool to go against the brazilian justice system to protect the "right" of a handful of investigated criminals to use his platform.
- inemesitaffia 3y agoYes ordering a company to cut off a customer and ordering them to claim it's for a TOS rather than a court order is perfectly fine
