High Dose Mushroom trip destroyed my life – a year in hell (2022)
- WarOnPrivacy 2y ago- For anyone visiting the link, I recommend collapsing posts by doctorlao. - Psychedelics are complex and have strong potential for real internal change. This is a neutral statement. - I suspect psychedelics are as safe as they can be under Schedule I. More safety would require a departure from SchI in a way that led to meaningful access to qualified guides. - I have a relative with severe anxiety, who already lives adjacent to fear. They studied mushrooms for a year and had lasting benefit from a few careful trials.
- corinroyal 2y agoIt disturbing that your response to the story of a man who endured unimaginable torture and died from psychedelic misuse is to insist categorically that "psychedelics are safe". Then you have the nerve to suggest we ignore the grieving warning of an associate of the dead man. I hope your uncritical drug boosterism doesn't encourage someone else to OD.
- shrimp_emoji 2y agoWhy are we believing a random psychonaut's effortpost on Reddit, corroborated by some other random Redditor? If anything, if that person was so depressed, they wouldn't've composed such an elegant essay.
- optimalsolver 2y agoAh yes, no elegant suicide notes have ever been written. You're scum. https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/legacyremembers/richard-c-skibinsky-obituary?pid=202434402 https://www.legacy.com/us/obituaries/legacyremembers/richard...
- sevagh 2y agoAlmost everything posted on Reddit reeks of sensationalism and fakery. It's not "disrespectful to the departed" to be skeptical of Reddit posts.
- WarOnPrivacy 2y ago>> I suspect psychedelics are as safe as they can be under Schedule I. > It disturbing that your response to [awful stuff] is to insist categorically that "psychedelics are safe". I think a careful misreading of my text might be needed to make that declaration. If an explanation would help: I indicated a neutral position to clarify I wasn't advocating. My use of "I suspect" makes clear this isn't an expert position - which makes your choice of "categorical" unproductive. Unless you want to punctuate disdain. What is deceivingly false is your assertion that I 'insisted psychedelics are safe'. You trimmed away necessary context about conditions (Schedule 1) that prevent the prevent mental health professionals (guides) being developed and inserted into the equation - specifically to reduce tragedies (and people lashing out in response). > Then you have the nerve to suggest we ignore the grieving warning of an associate of the dead man. I suggested muting a series of statements that were extraordinary in their length and constant change into disconnected directions. Or one could do nothing and try to absorb that. It was a neutral suggestion.
