On the one hand, I’m on the fence about this heavy-handed approach. Tons of people, myself included, use AI assistants to create high quality work in less time. Of course I’m also aware of tons of low quality garbage. On the other hand, I’m all for banning automated submissions which have been on the rise for the past couple of years, which are often thinly veiled (if at all) ads for AI startups. GitHub in particular should allow owners to ban all unsanctioned bots, and report unlabeled bots.
