One wonders if governments and publicly funded organisations should support commercial social platforms at all. Whether we like it or not, algorithm-driven socials are currently political. And event if we can put that aside, it means a government is actively supporting data brokering of personal information, ads, scraping of the web and whatever current controversy is taking place. Fedi is a neutral alternative that allows everyone to follow their public services, allows said public services to also own the content they post, not constantly have to comply with some platforms community guidelines.
