Why does the article mention mass layoffs for 600 people at Apple scale?
- gnicholas 3y agoI think articles like this are published whenever a company files paperwork to do layoffs, which is only required above a certain threshold. It's true that Apple is a large company, but if all of these layoffs are in the Bay Area that makes it a bit more material than if it were worldwide layoffs.
- Nasrudith 3y agoWARN act definition of mass layoff is for 50 or more jobs in a thirty day period. Six hundred lay-offs qualifies dozen-fold.
- whiplash451 3y agoSure but then a promise from Apple to never do mass layoffs (like the article mentions) is untenable.
