Public AI as an Alternative to Corporate AI
- vouaobrasil 3y agoAnd we're just asking this question now? What about corporate control of one of the most basic tools of modern society: the smartphone. Just two companies control the two respective software stacks. I would much prefer a new law that forbids the use of AI completely, at least commercially. That is: it should be illegal to sell AI services and sell products that were made with AI services. We have a severely broken society when we cannot even decide NOT to use technology, and the only way forward is further innovation which is fundamentally unsustainable (more AI -> faster computers -> more mining -> more destruction).
