- cbsks 3y agoIs that transferred to an external server?
- sebmellen 3y agoYes, to https://plausible.io https://plausible.io
- hyperhello 3y agoThat's kind of useful to know what page you were on when you took the note.
- sph 3y agoGiven that this information is sent to Plausible, a more privacy-friendly alternative to Google, would people complain if it used Google Analytics instead? I'm gonna go bet they wouldn't. Google runs on 99.9% of websites and no one ever bats an eye (haven't heard anyone complain about it on this forum), but somehow a less terrible tracking suite is noteworthy enough to complain about. (Disclaimer: I have a paid Plausible subscription for my products because it collects much less data than Google, and I don't need to add a cookie banner)
- squigz 3y agoFirstly, yes, people would complain if it was GA instead? I'm not even sure how serious this comment is. Secondly, it's noteworthy because this is supposedly a "Simple, No BS" notepad. Tracking user activity doesn't fit into either of those categories for a ... notepad.
- tengwar2 3y agoIf you haven't heard people complaining about Google Analytics, you haven't been listening. Personally, I block access to it except from one "dirty" browser for pages that won't run without access.
- XCSme 3y agoUnnecessary to whom?
