This is incredible whitewashing of Microsoft. Microsoft didn’t stop people from modifying their computers? Part of the anti trust case was Microsoft ending licenses with OEMs if they dared to sell a PC with Linux installed.
- kayodelycaon 3y agoI was referring to after purchase. Wasn't it still possible to install Linux on computers that came with Windows? Granted, drivers were a massive issue. And if anything, this only furthers the point that Apple isn't anything close to what Microsoft was doing.
- orwin 3y agoI think they fiddled with the bootloader of some pc vendors in the mid-90s,but we're quickly told to stop that. It might have destroyed a competitor though.
