I don't understand the "even if" comment. This is the one benefit of these social platforms. If the attention really motivates people to do something good, then have at it!
- neocritter 3y agoOne of my favorite YouTube channels uses the fame and funding to take on dog grooming jobs no one else is able to, or is able to devote enough time and detail to. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OkGk2YRSnw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2OkGk2YRSnw There's also an explosion of channels where professional landscapers and pressure washers do the occasional free job on a house in desperate need while recording it for YouTube. It's great background TV and likely more effective than any kind of paid advertising.
- onemoresoop 3y agoBe careful with the attention seeking as an incentive. People could stage all kind of things just to get the attention they crave or monetize.

- fennecbutt 3y agoWell, we're living in an era of electronic crack, being a social species has its disadvantages as well; people can become addicted to clout. Think of all of the "I rescued this kitten from a well!!!" videos, only to find that that's the only type of video that channel makes, ie they're throwing kittens down wells.
