This author seems to have no understanding of how AI art generation works. It’s easily as difficult (if not more complex) to fully grasp and build an advanced generation workflow using something like comfyui. Some of the workflows I’ve seen are mind blowing and are clearly people working to “hone their craft” it’s just not using pen and paper anymore. Say what you will about the data it was trained on (a fair argument, but also a Pandora’s box situation; ) but AI is here to stay, it’s a matter of how we adapt, not old man yelling at a band for using AI.
- observationist 3y agoNobody sacrificed years of their life and toiled endlessly to produce it, so even if it merely looks as good as something an artist would produce, it's objectively inferior because it doesn't have that special human magic spark. Or maybe this guy decided to feel strongly about something without really thinking about it and is spouting silly things online. Old man yells at cloud (AI image generator). I can't wait to see what kids that grow up with this technology will be able to produce. They have technology with the lowest barrier between real media and their imaginations to play with ideas and art and stories. Anyone moaning about some magic human spark being lost to AI art is just a silly person with a silly opinion, and you can safely disregard that opinion as not mattering to anyone, ever, except maybe the people that hold that opinion, but probably not even them.
