I wouldn’t let my kids on the dark web, but honestly in terms of overall social harm addictive social media is far worse. I’m a bit on the fence as to whether a Tor onion browser would be more or less harmful than access to Instagram, unfiltered YouTube, or Tiktok. They’re more likely to find toxic horrors and crime on the dark web, but the socials are more mindless and addictive and probably harmful to mental health. Engagement driven social media is really horrible especially for kids.
