[Picture of a future in 80s magazine. Smartly dressed man saying "computer, make me sandwitch" to a toaster on wheels] [picture of actual modern times. small device with a screen saying "human, charge me and go to work" to a sleepy man in t-shirt]

I am reminded of a Dust short a few years ago... Sci-Fi Short Film “A Date in 2025" https://youtu.be/NZ8G3e3Cgl4 https://youtu.be/NZ8G3e3Cgl4 Which... doesn't seem too unreasonable now.

Despite the obviously dystopian undertones, it's truly an interesting time to be alive.

Are we even alive? Maybe we're just some ancient AI's experiment in organic LLMs.
  - imtringued 3y ago
Yeah, everyone knows the fabric of reality runs on languages invented inaude the simulation. Even the people outside the simulation use the present day English language.

By most definitions we are whether an ancient AI's experiment, or God's or other. The question may soon be whether the AI girlfriends are alive.

I remember a time when dating websites were for nerd losers. Now they're the norm. I can't wait to see how things are 20 years from now.
- DonHopkins 3y ago
People won't be using dating websites. People will be dating websites.
  - solardev 3y ago
And in 21 years, websites will be dating websites.
