Nice clickbait.
I wonder why no one likes "journalists" in 2024?
- dekhn 3y agoit's technically a recall, which no longer means "taking the vehicle to the service center". Not sure exactly what you're complaining about as the article says this clearly.
- jjackson5324 3y agoObviously 90% of readers just view the headline and don't read the article. Misleading people through omitting important details in the headline is journalism 101 nowadays.
- dekhn 3y agoThere's nothing misleading here, you're just insisting that "recall" means "bring the car to the shop", but it's 2024 and that's not true any more. The government (and the car companies) will continue to call it a recall.
- jjackson5324 3y agoWhy are all the comments angry at the author then? Just because you didn't find it misleading, doesn't other people weren't mislead.
- dekhn 3y agoLikely it's a tesla fan downvote brigade. I have no idea why such a thing exists, but it does.
- jrflowers 3y ago>I wonder why no one likes "journalists" in 2024? Seriously. Just because Tesla itself calls this a recall is no reason for anyone reporting on it to use that language, they should come up with a new word and use that instead https://www.tesla.com/support/annual-and-recall-service https://www.tesla.com/support/annual-and-recall-service
- jjackson5324 3y agoA better title would be Tesla issues "OTA Update" Recall on Almost Every Vehicle... That would be a good headline if PCMAG was interested in informing their readers. Clearly they're not interested in doing that. They're interested in getting clicks.
- jrflowers 3y agoExactly. Just because the government and the manufacturer agree to call it a recall is no reason to report it as such as I, the reader, have my own personal definition for the word that does not align with theirs.
