- bpodgursky 3y agoIt's the font size on the dashboard for the "check oil" light. Lumping this into the same taxonomy as "uncontrollable acceleration requiring new parts" is farcical.
- Volundr 3y agoWe call both the ability to modify some random file without permission with physical access under specific circumstances and Spectre/Meltdown CVEs despite being wildly different severity. Recall is a specific thing where the NHTSA requires a manufacturer to fix a vehicle. The fact that recalls can have different levels of severity and take different levels of effort to fix is not surprising. I agree the headline is written to make it sound like a huge issue when it's not, but it is factual.
- Kluggy 3y agoWhile I do think calling it a recall is a bit much, it’s more than just a check light. It’s actual controls > the font Tesla uses to mark the park, brake, and anti-lock brake controls on its vehicle dashboards
