Ask HN: Who should be the next Google CEO?
Sundar Pichai is a resilient CEO, but his time to go will eventually come - especially with the stock down 6% as it is today. It has been said in the past that the big problem is that nobody can replace him as Google CEO...

- thiago_fm 3y agoThe CEO of a corporation with a board like Google has very little leeway on what it can do. Those companies first need to get into a huge crisis before the board and shareholders think about new changes. People that haven't been into management typically have a very naive idea about how much power managers have. It isn't that much, you need to parrot a lot of stuff you don't like just because others want to listen it, or the board and shareholders think it is important.
- sk11001 3y ago> People that haven't been into management typically have a very naive idea about how much power managers have. A CEO isn't just a manager though, at director level and above you get to have a say about what gets worked on and what doesn't in a way you don't if you're lower-level management.
