news is not to make money. it's to control what news people get... those who buy news outlets can shape what people see and read and hear. it's money spent the same way you pay for having your ad be shown somewhere... it's absolutely not about making money. the making money is done around of owning a news outlet.

I think not make money is recent. Up to 2000 papers and TV made money. Since Google and Facebook took the advertising industry then adverts did not go to news organisations.
