- lbourdages 3y agoIt is 100% legal if you obtain your ROMs legally (i.e. own the game and somehow dump it).
- slau 3y ago100% legal everywhere in the world, under all circumstances? That’s a very, very bold claim.
- minimaul 3y agoAnd not true - for example, format shifting in the UK is illegal. You can't legally rip a CD, DVD or Bluray here, let alone a console game.
- gmac 3y agoWould be interesting to see a reference for that. I’ve never heard of anyone being pursued for ripping or format-shifting.

- toolz 3y agoI have a friend that just purchases the game and then pirates the dump (as it's much easier that way to obtain the dump). That's maybe technically illegal (IANAL), but I don't think anyone should be worrying about violating the letter of a law so long as the spirit of the law isn't being violated.
- fernandotakai 3y agoi've done that, because i just hate playing on the switch compared to the steam deck. (the switch is lighter, but the deck is much more comfortable for my hands)
- gjsman-1000 3y agoHave you looked at Hori Split Pad Pro controllers? https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Split-Ergonomic-Controller-Handheld/dp/B08FJ7XY3B?th=1 https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Split-Ergonomic-Contr...
- fernandotakai 3y agonot yet! i will take a look at reviews to see if they fit my usage, thanks :)
- klaussilveira 3y agoOne has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws.
- knodi 3y agoSounds like prison.
- illumanaughty 3y agoNo.
- prmoustache 3y agoI own a switch and I am excited to be able to continue playing games I bought even if my Switch die. These are pretty fragile machines.
- Biganon 3y agoLegal in Switzerland, even with copyrighted games, even if you've never paid for them. Same for music, movies, etc. But Switzerland is a bit weird in that regard.
