31 Years Later, "Star Castle" Finally Ported to Atari 2600
- Porter_423 15y agosimply awesome
- andrewfelix 15y agoReally impressive. Especially the in-cartridge LED's. It's a shame the magic of the clean vector lines of the original Cinematronics got a little lost in the port. On that note; how fucking awesome were/are Cinematronic games.
- Someone 15y ago"Really impressive. Especially the in-cartridge LED's"?? It is a cool idea, but I think that is the part I could have done. Programming this on the 2600 is a different story. [Aside: I think those white LEDs are out of date; in those days, LEDs were red]
- andrewfelix 15y agoThe LED's are programmable and "actually flash with the gameplay". Yes that is really impressive.
- cycojesus 15y ago"Anachronic" rather than "out of date", no?
- joezydeco 15y agoYou do know that there's a difference between vector displays and raster displays, right?
- DavidAbrams 15y agoI loved Star Castle. Man, this development effort was pretty impressive.
- gregbair 15y agoIt's impressive, but would it be worth investing in on Kickstarter? No.
- joezydeco 15y agoBecause this guy has a finished prototype ready for production, as opposed to all the other game projects that don't even have something designed?
- cpeterso 15y agoThat's for Lackluster users to decide.
- cpeterso 15y agooops, my phone spell "corrected" Kickstarter to Lackluster. :)
- jes5199 15y agoTo me, $50 for a custom cartridge sounds like a great deal. That's the magic of kickstarter - they don't all have to be million dollar deals to be worthwhile for people on both sides of the transaction.

- kisom 15y agoI'm not much of a gamer myself, but this is pretty impressive. I love the detail that went into making the cartridge / retro packaging. Pretty cool!
