- howenterprisey 3y agoAs someone on an Amazon boycott, Ebay works pretty well for just about anything I've wanted.
- ddoolin 3y agoIMO eBay is still the best option for selling some things if you don't want to sell in-person.
- fckgw 3y agoeBay is the second largest eCommerce site by sales behind Amazon. They sell more new merchandise than used these days.
- londons_explore 3y agoFirst is Aliexpress Amazon is 2nd eBay is third
- ipsum2 3y agoeBay has the best prices on used electronics and buying weird/niche stuff that can't be found on Amazon imo.
- wharvle 3y agoI trust them more than Amazon. I don't trust them much, but... like, a lot more than Amazon. In our city there's a flea market in a bad part of town where the parking lot has a metal sliding gate and there's barbed wire on the roof and all the windows have bars (obviously, given the rest of that) and there are live vendors in there hawking their goods at folding tables, with about the proportion (... high) of stolen and counterfeit goods you'd expect. That's Amazon. Ebay's like an ordinary, mediocre antique mall. You might buy something that's crap or was misrepresented, or you might overpay, but it's not an entire business basically dedicated to crime.
- ethbr1 3y agoI know exactly the type of flea market and antique mall you're talking about, and that's the best analogy for current-Amazon and always-eBay I've heard. Ha!
- MasterYoda900 3y agoBooks out of print for example.
- kristopolous 3y agoebay sellers are way more respectable than ebay management. I'm an ebay seller and I'd never send someone spiders, unless, they paid for them.
