Indeed, in Star Trek humans “grew out of our infancy” by having WW3 and the eugenics wars, then by one genius creating a propulsion technology just to get rich, which luckily drew the attention of coincidentally passing benevolent space aliens.
It was all carnage + greed + razor-thin luck. None of it was intentional growth.

- 082349872349872 3y agoYou're right, looks like it's only Mirror Spock in TOS. (I guess I was confused by the "Mirror Universe" South Park tribute, where everyone has goatees, including the polite and generous Mirror Cartman...)
