I've Built a PDF API
- geowrgetudor 3y agoI've started building this back in december just for fun and suddenly it turned into a product. It provides a simple way to work with PDF files via API as well as web interface. I know there are some other on the market, but I hope someone finds it useful.
- Alifatisk 3y agoCool idea! I’d highly suggest you stay away from xyz tld. It has a very bad rep.
- LargeTomato 3y agoI'm not aware of any stigma around .xyz. What gives it a very bad rep?
- Alifatisk 3y agoThere have been discussions here regarding xyz actually. People have used the TLD for spamming & phishing so the tld have basically gotten blacklisted and could easily be flagged as spam when you use the domain for emails for example. It has gotten to this point because the tld is very cheap.
- geowrgetudor 3y agoReally? I didn't know that. Thanks for info
- vrighter 3y agoThis is something that could very easily be run locally, if it were a library. Libraries do the "heavy lifting" in most software. The only reason this is an api is so that you can charge people for each single use. While requiring an internet connection to work, and sending a copy of the file to your servers (unfortunately we live in a world where I cannot possibly trust any claims that data will be deleted within any timeframe). There is no conceivable reason for this to be a web api, imo.
- geowrgetudor 3y agoI get what you're saying. Building a standalone app is also on my todo list.
