And for those of us who work for a living?
- iancmceachern 3y agoIt's possible to get into a cycle where your body naturally wakes up.
- derwiki 3y agoI haven’t set an alarm for the workday in years; I naturally wake up around 6:30am. Even if I stay up late, I’m unable to sleep in. I think I’d rather need an alarm to wake up.
- tonyedgecombe 3y agoI'm the same. In fact on the rare occasion I do need an alarm I'm always awake before it goes off anyway.
- renewedrebecca 3y agoNot setting the alarm is just part of the story though… to make it work, you also have to have a good sleep routine all around. Or you can just wait until you hit your 50s and suddenly can’t sleep as long because everything hurts anyway. That’s been working for me.
- sleep-grenade 3y agoit's also really easy for the circadian rhythm to just shift forward a bit each day. i currently managed to reach the point where i woke up after the sun had set, and not sure where to go from here to fix it. tried staying up all night and then go to sleep at a reasonable time the next day, but that just ended making things worse since i was too tired to stay awake that long eventually :D
- zamadatix 3y agoNo worse than jetlag. You don't get over it in one day but you've got to keep sticking to the new schedule until you do.
- dp-hackernews 3y agoOr people that go to bed at a time that supports waking up at the desired time...
- genman 3y agoIt depends if your work must start by the clock. If you can have more flexible schedule then it is possible.
- bwanab 3y agoWait till you get to #18. It tells you to set the alarm 30 minutes early!
- rkagerer 3y ago#1 on their list is not setting an alarm, then in #3 they endorse a Lumie alarm clock they bought...
- mikestew 3y ago“They” are not the same people. It is a collection of items, with a one-to-one person-to-item relationship.
- kakaz 3y agoWorking for Just Stop Oil is real job!
- FireBeyond 3y agoI get these were all submissions, but the curation is a bit wonky too. Number 1 is "don't use an alarm". Literally two down from that, at number 3 is "Leave your phone downstairs and buy a good alarm clock".
