North Korea fertility rate plummets to estimated 1.38
- dash2 3y agoAll of East Asia is crazy low. Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore are about ONE. I think it's weird and unexplained why East Asian fertility has been hit so hard.
- unsupp0rted 3y agoSeoul is 0.59. Half of South Korea's population lives in/around Seoul: 26 million people. Even still, it's not Seoul that's mainly at risk: people will continue to flock from every town and city to live there for years to come. It's those feeder towns/cities that are going to disappear off the map. They're already shutting down elementary schools for lack of kids. There are more pet strollers than baby strollers on the sidewalks.
