- tictacttoe 3y agoI sort of hate buying cheap junk toasters, but I also don’t need something with a bunch of unnecessary frills like an LCD screen. And it needs to toast well! I’ve been banging my head against the internet looking for something and have come up mostly empty handed. I don’t really want a toaster oven either. The dualit classic is close to what I want, but it sounds like it doesn’t toast that evenly which seems crazy to me given its price point. Does anyone else feel like there’s a significant gap in the market when it comes to well-engineered minimalistic toasters?

- bombcar 3y agoAll the well-engineered things are commercial designs. You might find one that is acceptable for home use - something similar to https://www.webstaurantstore.com/hatco-tpt-208-4-slice-commercial-toaster-1-1-4-slots-208v/413TPT208.html https://www.webstaurantstore.com/hatco-tpt-208-4-slice-comme...
- headwayoldest 3y agoWould love to see a “knob feel” category for these in addition to the visual observations.
- wkjagt 3y agoI wrote about my thrift store bought toaster almost ten years ago now (1). I wrote about how much I loved it, how it had no features but worked so well. Now almost 10 years later, this is still our toaster and it still works as well as it did when I got it from the the thrift store about 16 years ago. I love old stuff.
