It's not just you: Christmas lights look different now, give you headaches

- phendrenad2 3y agoYou can still buy incandescent holiday lights, they're still legal (for now).
- MaximilianEmel 3y agoIt should not be legal to sell lights with such flicker, and certainly not be legal to have such lights displayed to the public.
- wkjagt 3y agoIt’s not just the flickering but also the colour. I really hate the colours of RGB LED Christmas light. I feel no warm Christmas feelings when I see them. Technology Connections made a video about this recently. He described it as it looking “like a gaming PC exploded on your front lawn”. https://youtu.be/va1rzP2xIx4 https://youtu.be/va1rzP2xIx4
- dr_kiszonka 3y agoLovely video. It is great to see someone so passionate about Christmas lights (or anything really).
- matheweis 3y agoIt’s not just Christmas lights, a surprising number of LEDs off the shelf flicker and strobe in various ways, even expensive ones..
- kylehotchkiss 3y agoWhy do the fixed brightness LED lights need to flicker anyways? Why not dimmer elements, on full time? Like is it more expensive to throw a capacitor in there than to choose dimmer elements?
