  The US and EU already have declining fertility rates when you take immigration stats out of the equation.

    Thats's just a natural behavior of people who are having it good. It happens everywhere, even in Turkey the fertility rates slid into the "catastrophic" range as the life quality of the people increased. When in places where tragedies are happening, the fertility skyrockets.

    Both statements can be true. And I think alcohol consumption is also declining, isn't it? At least among people at the age where having children while drunk is most likely.

    But average alcohol consumption has also been decreasing, quite substantially compared to a century ago. Maybe we should be drinking more.
