Startup tests for an embryo's genetic defects before IVF pregnancy begins
- jncfhnb 3y agoI’m doing the more basic one. Chromosomal, not this startup. All covered by insurance. It’s an interesting shift. I get to choose which embryo too which means choosing sex to some degree. Amused that the promo picture shows “30x” embryos. That’s kind of absurd.

- justrealist 3y agoPGT-A only screens for large chromosomal defects, not genetic variants (which is the cause of most genetic disease).
- jncfhnb 3y agoIf you have a specific genetic defect in mind though you can create a specific probe to test for it. I guess this startup is eliminating that need and can screen generally
