- mensetmanusman 3y agoTrucks will always be on public roads, certainly the EU could mandate an exterior pillow for trucks. Anything weighing over 6k will hurt, CT may be safer compared to taller vehicles that will hit the head simultaneously. Also, the future of autonomous driving may change the calculus.
- realusername 3y agoI'm not aware of any personal vehicle you can legally drive in the EU which weight that much. It's outside of a normal car driving license if it's even allowed at all. You would need an actual truck license which nobody has apart from truck and bus drivers.
- everfrustrated 3y agoI think there's a valid argument that says with teslas level of AI the vehicles software > crumple zones. I'm not talking self driving but its collision avoidance which there's amazing youtube videos of it cutting in and preventing just insane accidents.
- conception 3y agoSo, a cybertruck will never be hit by another car? The AI will dodge it?
- panick21_ 3y agoI would argue this is clearly safer then an F-150 and those are legal. The reason being the nose is far higher and that's usually what kill you. It makes a huge difference if you go over a car or not. So unless I see some real testing that shows that this is less safe then an F-150 that's my assumtion. The Cybertruck also has far better visability, with a F-150 you literally can't see a huge space in front of the car. That said, generally I am against these trucks and we should do everything to make them less common. Im wouldn't be sad to not see them here in Europe. There are far better vehicles for work and construction.
