I don't think it's the current AI that you want to think about for the future. It's the improvements coming in the next several years. If they are already in college, then I think they should study what interests them while at the same time making sure they take advantage of AI where it is applicable. But beyond four or five years, I suspect there will be a dramatic shift. Not sure what it will be, but basic assumptions about education and society will be challenged by AI.
