Don't count on people understanding the risks of something when they expect to make buckloads out of the thing. Lots of people here are AI maximalists because AI gave new breadth to the tired VC-backed startup hamster wheel.
- vouaobrasil 3y agoWell, you are right. We have created a system of "artificial selection" where only the ideas the net the greatest short-term profit flourish. Unfortunately, this has been taken to a global scale with modern tech companies, and this is the sort of scenario where short-term thinking can do the most damage. I realize that almost everyone here will be against me, but I figure it is a good place to start a debate and face the fiercest opponents.
