I disagree with this. I've had LinkedIn for as long as I can remember and have only received one short-term contract on there. Indeed has been a million times better for me (for contracts and full-time positions).
Edit: I just finished the article. First, you're coming off terribly aggressive and threatening in some of your emails. Not a good look. If you did that to me, I for sure wouldn't help you - in fact, it would make me not want to help you.
Second, it's a single platform out of many. Your life isn't over because you got banned on a website. And obviously, don't rely on any single platform for any business you're working on. That's foolish.
- billh93 3y agoMy first email did not come off aggressive. I was just confused on what I did wrong. Like I mentioned I never got a warning or anything. So, I apologized for what I may have done as it was never my intention and asked what can I do to fix it. They ignored my first email, so I sent them another one the next day with the same purpose to figure out what I did wrong and it was after the fact that they suspended my account which is why I responded the way I did. They ignored the second email, so I sent them a 3rd email to catch their attention because it’s unlawful to just destroy someone’s online presence with no explanation or time to comply cause this is how someone makes a living and connects with other professionals. I’m aware of other professional networking communities but they are niche based for entrepreneurs like indiehackers and joinentre. LinkedIn, is an industry norm when it comes to doing overall business.
