USA can control half the World when they want to impose profit-making sanctions against Huawei, or to increase copyright terms; I can't see how they couldn't do something on air pollution if they wished to.
Find a way to make it make absurd profits for USA business and it'll happen.
Aside from that, is Canadian produced air pollution a problem in USA?
- giantg2 3y agoThe wildfire smoke affected air quality for much for the north eastern US for a few weeks this year. What is the solution to that? Forcing Canada to do more controlled burns?
- kayodelycaon 3y ago> Forcing Canada to do more controlled burns? In theory, we napalm and some F-16s laying around somewhere. It would be a very American solution to the problem. Doubly so if we avoid doing controlled burns in our territory.
- pbhjpbhj 3y agoDoes the reverse not happen in the Northern of the States of USA? Are approaches better in USA, do you do more controlled burns? Is wind direction generally Southerly along the border?
- ecshafer 3y agoAlong the New York / Canadian border, yes the wind is generally southerly and easterly, very rarely are you getting the wind to go up from new york and into Canada. Since the fires were in Ontario, that wind brought it over Lake Ontario, and down across new york and down the coast.
- pbhjpbhj 3y agoThanks for the info.
- strictnein 3y agoIt affected other parts of the US for a lot longer than that. On the upside, the sunsets this summer were absolutely stunning.
- BenjiWiebe 3y agoIt was bad for a week or so here in Kansas. Like you could see the haze easily against a building/tree 1/4 mile away.
