- polotics 3y agoAllright. The big problem with this approach is you've fully gotten rid of the invisible hand of the market, you're in a top-down economy, and inefficiencies are bound to explode..
- pekantdook 3y agoOver hiring and laying off tens of thousands is efficiency! Sending empty planes in the air to keep take off slots is so efficient! …Stop parroting memes of the ossified that fall apart with 10 seconds of discussion.
- kelseyfrog 3y agoI am like a lot of people, near the point of giving up. If the choice is between wealth inequality and market ineffeciencies, I'm going to threaten picking market ineffeciencies simply as bargaining leverage against wealth inequality. Like all go threats, I'd be willing to pull the trigger.

- drewcoo 3y ago> my read is that at some point we just tax the fuck out of the tech gods who “win”, creating UBI for the rest That's a happy ending, but who exactly how do "we" purchase the governments of the world back from the "tech gods" so that they can levy those taxes? In Halloween terms, vampires have already been invited into our home.
- masswerk 3y agoHowever, the very premise of techno feudalism is that they do not pay taxes, rather, it's them, who collect the rents. (Possibly with the prospect of these rents increasingly replacing taxes, as traditional territorial hegemonies are losing legitimacy.)
