Getting your genetic disease risks from 23andme is probably a bad idea (2017)
- solhando 3y agoI am currently awaiting my 23andme results, should be done in the next two weeks. I specifically chose to the options that will tell me about potential genetic diseases that I currently could do little or nothing about. Perhaps if I am predisposed to Alzheimers, I'll be more aware as treatment and prevention becomes possible, and extend my useful life because of that. Without the knowledge, even if there were developments in prevention, I would likely not know about it. Even if ignorance is bliss, knowledge is power.
