How are you measuring this?
- vouwfietsman 3y agoEvery fortnight during a full moon. All kidding aside, obviously I don't. That shouldn't detract from my statement at all though, nobody measures anything about software. We're all in the dark. Thats actually reinforcing my beliefs: we are in the dark because software is unmeasurable because of the freedoms taken by programmers that fail to abstract or fail to be formalized. Formalizing software, and then starting to measure changes rigourously, is the first step we have to take towards becoming a mature industry. Formalization is the oposite of freedom. People think software is like art, where freedom of expression broadens horizons. This is no longer true, most software is not art, most software is buttons that make money when clicked.

- esafak 3y agoJoke's on them; that's not art :) What's next, sit silently behind the piano for four and a half minutes and call it a musical performance??
