What happened behind the scenes at the X CEO's disastrous coming out party
- ggm 3y agoThe not nice bit, I can definitely relate. It would be awful to get this diverted from what was expected to be a love-in. But, this is why c suite execs are paid the big bucks, and there are questions which I think all of us would love to see put and hear answered. Since its gone mostly private, the whole "shareholders deserve to know" thing and "that's a market moving question" risk has gone. Now, it's just gossip. Ex Twitter user, left before the dumpster fire owner bought it.

When an exec takes over a position, the most basic questions are about what challenges predecessors faced and what are their plans to tackle those, and what are today's most-pressing challenges and how does the exec plan to address them. Otherwise it's just an unashamed and vacuous PR stunt.

- dekhn 3y agoI expected her to last exactly one year but now I'm wondering if it will be 6 months. she didn't do her research before signing up. and now she's realizing she not only inherited the dumpster fire, she's going to take some of the blame with Musk.
- clouddrover 3y ago> Still, some criticized Swisher and Code for "sandbagging" Yaccarino, needlessly putting her in a position to make her look bad in her appearance at a tech conference. Yaccarino sandbagged herself when she took the job. She put herself in a position that makes her look bad. She decided the pay packet was worth the inevitable reputational damage. > Asked by Boorstin if she is CEO in name only, Yaccarino called the question "not nice." The truth rarely is.
