Epic Games Cutting 870 Jobs, 16 Percent of Its Workforce
- kranke155 3y agoSo they just bought Bandcamp and now they’re selling it? Hope the service remains online, what a mess?
- otachack 3y agoYes. I'm an avid user and it's literally just a passed around commodity at this point. This next owner doesn't sound good for it though I may be mistaken. We need a Bandcamp-like entity or service that isn't for-profit but it's a hard challenge.
- Melonai 3y agoSince the fediverse has been kind of blossoming recently, maybe the ActivityPub-based Funkwhale could become popular, too? I haven’t tried using it yet myself but it always seemed like it was made to be in the same niche as Bandcamp. It would be pretty neat to see an open platform succeed in that space either way :)

- uf00lme 3y agoWonder if it is a coincidence that 16% is roughly the productivity gained when allowing your development team to use AI tooling
- Kiuhrly1 3y agoThat's not how percentages work...
- l0b0 3y agoOff topic, but kudos to Kotaku for including both the absolute and relative numbers in their heading! It's such a rare piece of journalistic integrity.
