- thghtihadanacct 3y ago... rather making remote jobs more sought after and competitive? If the City is having a hard time filling up its offices id look to see where the c suite a-holes are working. They arent traveling 280 or 101 to get to soma so they can take an elevator up to see an empty office. They are staying somewhere in Tiburon or Woodside asking if the plebes presented. I wouldnt drive to the City for twice my pay now. They can eat their concrete and iron cake ... and shove the rest up their ass.

- oblio 3y agoPeople keep saying that but in real life competitive moats win out. Racists were supposed to have lost 100+ years ago because their non-racists competitors would just have a diverse workforce and yet if you look at senior management (let alone boards) Fortune 500 companies in 2023, guess what...
- myshpa 3y agoIt seems that most companies are failing to exhibit independent leadership in their decision-making, especially when it comes to trends like remote work. More and more, we're witnessing organizations simply follow the crowd instead of taking the initiative to make informed choices.
- brucethemoose2 3y agoWhat amazes me is more than anything is that Meta jumped on the trend. They are huge, and don't have to follow anyone. They literally changed their name and company focus to enabling remote work (and remote everything). Hence they are just about as ready for remote work as anyone on the planet. ... But apparently thats not enough to let their own employees work remotely.

- brucethemoose2 3y agoWTF. If driving became unfashionable in corporate land, would Ford and BMW discourage their employees from driving?
