Employment expert breaks down the future of remote work
- ilaksh 3y agoThe actual future of remote work, i.e. several years or decades away, is much less about whether you are physically present as it is about the level, type, and timing of virtual presence. Devices will be able to create a comfortable and realistic virtual remote working environment. I believe that many people will resist this almost as strongly as they do physically going to the office. The compromise will probably be having a limited time that is required for virtual immersive presence. The direction is more towards a very high percentage of workers eventually being their own "startups" herding AIs and robots. The contracts and protocols will continue to become more sophisticated. Managers will not be concerned about whether the human is present or actually working on their project much of the time, but rather will have real-time information about products and services delivered by the individual's company's artificial entities. Managers will have their own AIs that create and delete contracts based on measured productivity.
